Dr. Michael Sanya is a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with a doctorate in nursing. He began his Psychiatric nurse practitioner journey in 2022 with a keen interest in meeting the needs of the mental health population by building upon and going beyond conventional mental health treatment approach.
He brings over a decade of healthcare experience. Michael excels in mental health care, underscored by his ability to establish trusting and lasting patient relationships. He integrates evidence-based techniques with practical and extensive insights gained from providing psychiatric mental health services including medication management, brief therapy and counseling.
Michael’s academic journey includes an associate degree in nursing from Essex County College, Newark, New Jersey, a bachelor’s degree in nursing from New Jersey City University, New Jersey, and a master’s and doctorate in Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner from Walden University, Minnesota, where he graduated with high honors and a perfect GPA. He is an active member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and the National Society of Leadership and Success.

I am Carla Fontange-Sanya, APN, PMHNP-BC, a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over a decade of experience in the medical field. I am deeply passionate about helping individuals achieve mental well-being, emotional balance, and an improved quality of life. I currently practice at SurePath Psychiatry in Union, NJ, where I provide compassionate, patient-centered mental health care to individuals across the lifespan. I offer personalized, evidence-based treatment for children, adolescents, and adults, addressing a wide range of mental health concerns with skill and sensitivity.
